Smuggle in 100 Valium from France and you will be executed

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unk's Wild Wild West : One Thread

According to a bill introduced recently in the house, this could be your fate upon a second offense. Upon a first offense you can be sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Has the war on drugs gone far enough?

Who the hell is this Sweeney clown?

So when I purchase a 200-count bottle of acetaminophen with codeine for about $8US in Montreal and carry it back with me to the USA I face life imprisonment?

Change that "when I purchase" to "if I purchase". This is a theoretical situation, of course. Kathy might be reading this thread. Wouldn't want to get her panties twisted up on my account. Wouldn't want to do life for a lousy bottle of headache pills, either.

Hi Kathy! How are you, sweety? (la la la la la)

Rich-

The way I read it, that is correct. The dosage available over the counter in Canada is 1/8th grain, or 7.5mg. In America, this is a schedule 4 drug. Higher doses are considered schedule III. Up until about 12-15 years ago you could buy preperations with up to 7.5 mg of codeine by siging a slip in the pharmacy stating you purchased the product(Donnagel-PG comes to mind-they have since changed the formula).

The dosage for the codeine would be 1 tabley every 4-6 hours as needed. So yep, life imprisonment, bucko.

By the way, I only know this from reading. ; ).

Well, prison would leave me with lots of free time to study the Gita. Know of any federal prisons that serve vegetable biryani and daal? How about mango lassi?

I really shouldn't joke about prison. There but for the Grace of God am I.

Amazing you remember those research details, FS. Equally amazing what the body can endure and still remain intact.

Survived just fine there, Rich.

You remind me of Stained Glass, FS.

Some might look at you and say "ah, just a bunch of colored, broken shards of glass glued together in a helter-skelter fashion. Look how it distorts the light."

I see instead a work of art. A human being who dares to place on display for public consumption his multi-colored, multi-layered personality.

Thanks for exercising your mental muscles (and exorcising) in this jungle gym.

This is the problem with allowing a born-again hypocrite like Scumya to take the presidency by judicial coup d'etat. It's okay if he snorts drugs for decades, but now that he has political power and Reverend Billy Graham behind him, he can execute others for the same behavior. What a fucking low-life scumbag.
