3 Junkyards in the desert......A real marathon!!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread

Find a place in the Ca. desert....near Apple Valley maybe. A place where there are two or three junksites within miles of each other. The teams would start at the first junkyard and have to build a quad runner and trailer....Then take off across the desert to the next junk pile....There they would have to build a canoe, and some fishing poles......Then take off across the desert again to another site which would have a lake or resevoir near it. Each team would then have to transfer all the team members across the lake one at a time to the finish line. (You could even throw in an extra time credit for every fish caught along the water challenge. Maybe a two day event....Maybe a 24 hr event??? Just an idea we can toss around.....

That's not bad. How about this; at each junkyard, the teams have to make a specific kind of craft or vehicle to transport themselves to the next junkyard, which will be the site of the next day's challenge. One day at each of the 3 junkyards - And 3 different challenges.

I kinda like this!!! Especially if you had a total number of hours to work each day, no matter how far along you were. If you got done early you could take off and gain a little advantage on the next challenge.

Wouldn't really have to limit it to just two teams either....
