DALGLISH: BARNES WAS TO BLAME By Daily Record Sport Staff

Kenny Dalglish has blamed former Celtic boss John Barnes for the disastrous signing policy which brought the club to its knees last season. Dalglish has washed his hands of responsibility for Celtic's pathetic performances last term which saw them finish 21 points adrift of Rangers in the SPL. Incredibly, despite appointing Barnes to the post in the first place, Dalglish claims it was the rookie's bad player judgments that cost Celtic their credibility and more than £12million in the transfer market. In his capacity as Director of Football, Dalglish was entitled to the final say on which players arrived at Parkhead. But he insists the transfers of Olivier Tebily (£1.5m), Rafael Scheidt (£5m) and Eyal Berkovic (£5.75m) were all sanctioned by Barnes. All three were unmitigated disasters along with Stephane Bonnes, Dmitri Kharine and Ian Wright, who arrived under Bosman Dalglish said: "It was John who signed all the players at Celtic. "I don't know who was the worst although there were more bad ones than good ones. "Obviously there was some consultation between us but at the end of the day the guy who is responsible for who plays, how we played and where and when we trained is the guy who is ultimately responsible for buying players." So there we have it, TSM was responsible for what happened at NUFC so why did he screw us for all that severance pay?
