Solano's final contribution was to tee-up striker Shola Ameobi for the clincher four minutes from time.

He said: "I was going to volley it but Shola shouted: "Give me the ball."

"I'm glad I did because he was in a better position to shoot. I am very pleased to see Shola score as he deserved a goal."

If Solano had volleyed that cross into the net it would have ben goal of the season. I was so impressed with Nobby for laying it off and Shola took the goal well if a little unspectacularly but at least he didn't welt it over the bar.

I can see him becoming a darling of the lasses with his big innocent simle beaming all over Elland Road. Shola has a certain spark as has been shown in the way he sqaures up to Wise and Bowyer (Picking on the small guys though!!), showing a confident approach for a 19 year lod.
