The Fat Fan and Friends

This wee story is absolutely true and on reflection it could only happen to Buff, nothing much really , one of those where you had to be there to witness and hear it, couple of stories in one I suppose,

I was on night shift on Saturday which had been a busy day at the Gas Plant due to the installation by heavy lift of a very large and expensive vessel. Large crane was involved and the vessel was brought onto plant from Peterhead Harbour by one of those trailers with more wheels than a centipede has legs. The company involved was A.L.E, or to give them there full title Abnormal Load Engineering from Stafford complete with two drivers, or when things were tight, one to drive and one to turn the wheels. Whether it was a masterstroke by there company management or free advertising but one of the drivers was huge and I mean huge, he weighed in and this is gospel at 42 stone

The job was completed successfully and they brought the rig out at about 10pm to park up for the night. By this time stories had been filtering back about the Giants drinking exploits in town the previous night, 16 pints in two hours and muttering he had to take it easy as he had a job on next day. Ever the congenial host Buff like red rag to a bull said the chef would be serving up at 11.15pm , the guy in his coveralls labelled Marquees Inc was all in favour, I asked him if he followed football and was welcome to sit in this wee room where we have three chairs and a tv to watch MOTD. I thought Toons game was the leader and bit disapointed to find it on later. Never mind, game on, newsing with the guy and then the camera panned into TOON ARMY and the Fat Fan, shart off, belly wobbling, our guest went into hysterics , roaring, pointing at the screen and finally falling out of the chair, this happening made his day and he never stopped talking about "Feckin Fat Geordie , Howayin the Lads"- I get em all!!!!

As an adder, the 42 stone giant abnormal load tech said to me in all seriousness with not a smile on his face, " Glad to get off plant, don`t like wearing safety hat and glasses, finds them uncomfortable"!! No reference to the ten Min`s he is carrying around mind you!!

A bit of a chicken and egg story Buff. Would the crane have needed to be so big if they didn't have to lift the fat bugger into his seat?
