Tribute to a wonderful young cheeky little Chilean

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

After a canny weekend, in which Toon got their second double on the trot, the Mackems were humiliated on Europe-wide TV (in front of none less than SGV) and I potentially sold me hoose, I thought I would reflect on a golden moment.

Chile may not be the first on anybody's mind, but there is a lot of class originating from the western strip of Sooth 'merica. In fact, Argentina is probably ahead of little Chile, not to mention their big neighbour Brazil (where the nuts come from), but when it counts, Chile is up there with the best. Even the world champs France have a bit to learn, believe me.

As chips go, I enjoyed an absolute treat. Done to perfection. Few better since I last experienced Belgian frittes. Mmmm - very tasty. But this was just a little different. One thing I will say about this particular Chilean - even when falling down (and it is prone to that sort of thing), it has a grace which rises above both competitors and peers.

A Speedy opening (despite missing the Glass and not mushroom in the pan As for the Chilean - the best in a long time. Especially given the bargain price. No lack of bottle (a real corker), lively, and a great celebration. Forget the French (they're over-priced), the South Africans (not enough choice) and the Australians (a bit too in-yer-face).

No, for me, the bargain of the week was a wonderful, young, cheeky little Chilean. Available in Adsa, £3:96.

Screacher, Was out down the quayside last night in Baja beach club and whilst standing at the troff in the bogs...who should walk in but Mr Acuna himself didn't fancy shaking his hand at that exact moment, but found him a bit later celebrating yesterdays win with the nobmeister and Cordone and a few hot looking chicks!

His goal is up for goal of the week on Fox World's EPL show:

And in spite of the photo of Kevin Dyer.....it's actually Marcus Stewart that's one of the other candidates. Dyer was one of last week's candidates...and came in last.

Also, Given got player of the week. And we got extended highlights for once. A good Toon weekend!

On the match thread we were trying to think of song for him and we missed the obvious one:

His name is Clarence Acuna,
He's not from Argentina
He's from Chile , he's from Chile
