The Berean Spirit

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Christian Church : One Thread

I wanted to let you know about an exciting, rapidly growing discussion group on the Internet, and to invite those of you who might be interested to come and participate in this noble effort. It is called the Berean Spirit discussion group, and is being based on the spirit evident in the Berean brethren in Acts 17:11 -- "Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily, to see whether these things were so."

The goal of this group is to provide a forum for those "in Christ Jesus" where they can carefully and prayerfully examine all aspects of their faith and practice in light of the inspired Word of God in order to "determine if these things be so." It will not be an effort to undermine, but rather to validate, the faith once for all delivered to the saints. No topic will be off-limits and no member will be denied the right to participate freely in these discussions.

We currently have 400 great members from all over the world, and the discussions have been tremendous. We are averaging about 100+ posts per day, making this one of the most active church of Christ groups on the Internet .... and it is also one of the most loving and well-mannered.

For those not wanting to receive such a large number of individual e-mails per day, we also have a "Daily Digest" (25 posts per Digest) and a "No Mail/Web Only" option (you will receive NO mail, but can read/respond to the posts on the BereanSpirit web page).

If you would like to become a member of this group in which the Word is discussed freely and with mutual respect for God, His people, and His Word, simply go to the following page and follow the directions:

http://www.egroups.com/group/BereanSpirit

Or, send an e-mail (with just the word "subscribe") to:

BereanSpirit-subscribe@egroups.com

We look forward to having you join us, and to getting to know you better, as we examine God's Word together in a spirit of mutual love and respect.
