I can't get any of them to playback either sound or no sound, I even tried multipl versions with the confirmed ikari recording at m35b5 and nothing. One thing that's good is that there is no nvram file created so we don't have to worry about that adding to the playback problems.

I'm going to submit this game and clones be banned unless someone can figure some resolutions to the playback problems.

hmm strange.. Have you tried my recordings too Chad?

maybe they donīt playback in certain versions of Mame.. could it be that they have changes the romset since the mam35 recordings was made?

I remember something about changing the emulated sound in Ikari..

Please try my recordings too.

I was able to playback the QRS recording quite happily as follows:

Frameskip 0 Sound = no Used Mame32Beta9

I found I also had to keep it throttled rather than using F10 to speed up the playback before it would work.

Will try the other two recordings for Ikari when time permits and post my findings.

Strange again... I know I recorded it in Mame32 037b10 not in beta9.. well it plays back and that is great!

i wasn't able to play it back in win37b10 - were you able to QRS? if you weren't able to play it back, why did you upload it?

I will try to play it back in win37b9, that would be nice if it does! I'll report after i can get to back to my playback computer.

As for others i haven't been able to play anything back that i've tried in the versions they were recorded at, i did try m35b4 and m35b6 for the m35b5 ikari recording though and no dice.

For the simple reason that I didnīt check my file before uploaded it..But I do that now. I have no reason to upload anything that donīt work. and for the winb10 or winb9 I have no idea.. I have NOT recorded it with beta9 thatīs for sure..

ps both Beejay and Barry R got my 223k of Ikari to work.

darn, trying mame3237b9 i qrs's recordings would most still die before getting to the first water... keeping frameskip0 "Draw Every Frame" set and using no F10 throttling... I've had mixed success with multiple runs with the same slow speed playback settings. Sometimes it would actually get passed the bridge but would never get passed 100k. Can anyone who can get these recordings to playback tell me if their settings match mine in the "default Options" mame32 menu? And more importantly can you playback the recording twice in a row to the score posted?

My mame32 settings: Sound tab, No Sound, 22050 greyed, FM synthesis, Stero, Use samples still checked. Controllers Tab, Use joystick Not checked, HotRodSE, Use mouse/trackball, Direct Input Joystick and keybord checked. Advanced Tab, Draw everyfram selected, Draw Only changes chcked, Double display size not checked. Miscelaneous Tab, Use background artwork checked, and Auto-pause checked, others NOT checked including Disable MMX. Display Tab, I've got Full screen display checked, and triple buffer not checked.

My mame32 settings that are different to yours are as follows. Also, I have now successfully played this back another couple of times but here's the interesting point. 1st time fails. 2nd time works. 3rd time fails. 4th time works.

ie: For some reason it works every 2nd time and also irrespective of whether or not I have throttling enabled.

Now for the differences between my Mame32 setup and yours:

Sound tab: FM synthesis unchecked otherwise same as yours.

Controllers Tab: Default input layout=standard Direct Input Joystick is greyed as well as checked

Advanced Tab: Use Direct Draw is also checked and greyed as well Double display size checked Horizontal scan lines checked

Miscelaneous Tab: Disable MMX is checked on my setup.

Display Tab: Identical

Cheers, BeeJay.

Very curious ... it playbacks 1/2 ! It's reminding me a similar case : mslug ; first time I playback bbh's score in t5 it playbacked fine ; after that I never managed to playback it again till the end (the input was losing sync at different moments of the game) ; anybody already had the same problem ?

darn, again, i can get the qrs_248900_ikari to playback a little differently every other time but i can't get it to playback completely, even with bjs settings.

unfortunatley a recording that doesn't playback all the time is considered one that doesn't playback reliably. It's up to Pat to determine if these recordings stay or go.
