how about making a lightweight helicopter using a simple engine, rotor and blades. This would be a challenge to fly it across land and water completing 3 laps.

Answers

The "blades" of a helicopter need to be shaped ling the wings of an airplane (a curved edge and a flat edge.) It would be almost impossible to fashion one of these.
