Tuesday January 16 12:16 PM ET Red Wing Jet Makes Emergency Landing

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - The Detroit Red Wings used a different plane Tuesday to fly to Canada hours after their chartered jet lost engine power and made an emergency landing in Sacramento.

None of the 46 passengers was injured Monday night during the unscheduled landing on a flight from San Jose to Vancouver, British Columbia.

The loss of power in an engine on the DC-9 prompted calls of a ``major in-flight emergency.''

The crew was able to restart the engine midair and the plane safely landed at Sacramento International Airport around 9:45 p.m. Monday, airport spokesman Gregg Weissenfluh said.

The team planned to charter another jet on Tuesday to continue road their trip, Weissenfluh said. The Red Wings' beat the San Jose Sharks 3-2 on Monday and play at Vancouver on Tuesday.

``They're experienced travelers, and everyone's fine,'' Red Wings spokesman John Hahn said. ``It's just an inconvenience that we had to land and stay the night here. We still play Vancouver tomorrow.''
