could someone tell my what the multiplex and demultiplex and all those settings means.

also what is the best fps setting to have. i have tried 60 but that doesnt work cos i get red and blue and pink squares here and there after converting. but if i have it at 59.64fps its fine. is 30 fine or if i can go higer the better? and the CBR kbps, what is that for. i can have it at 2950 and thats cool and also the res. Is 350x288 the right one to have for PAL output?

Depends on what you are trying to do. Here is a quick guide i found on a top site :-

VCD --> mpeg-1 1150 kbit/sec 352x288 pixels 25 frame/sec SVCD -> mpeg-2 max 2600 kbit/sec 480x576 pixels 25 frame/sec XVCD -> mpeg-1 max 3500 kbit/sec 352x288 pixels 25 frame/sec

Audio leave as 224 kbit/sec mpeg-1 layer 2

You may or may not need to de-interlace your image, i found adaptive blend to work o.k.

I get better results with this program than a lot of professional packages.

Look through previous posts for some sites with great guides/info.
