£3m Leboeuf on his way to France By Steve Stammers

Frank Leboeuf is set to join Monaco this week for £3million. The French club have increased their original offer for the Chelsea central defender and all that needs to be settled now are his personal terms.

One problem is that he has not asked for a transfer and so claims he is owed £1m to pay up the remainder of his Chelsea contract, which does not expire until the end of next season.

Leboeuf, 33 next week, was signed from Strasbourg for £2m in the summer of 1996.

Isn't there a ban on French Leboeuf crossing European borders at the moment? If there isn't there should be.

I think a policy of wholesale slaughter is the only safe solution.
