Man United fans - our matchday programme

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

According to Saturday's programme, the club have complained in strong terms about the behaviour of Man United fans at the game in December - largely because they wouldn't sit down. Now, I know they have had numbers their away allowances reduced at Leeds and Boro on this account. I have to say, does the club ever look at our behaviour - we've stood at loads of grounds this season, including Boro. It may be that our general behaviour is less obnoxious than Man United's (I know that they had a lot of trouble at Highbury whereas we had none) which is why we never even get asked to sit down but I have to say my initial feeling is to have some sympathy for the Mancs. Did anyone see the Mnacs being particularly repulsive that day.

Yep a lot of Two finger salutes and a bunch of Mancs wearing Sunderland tops. ( or was it mackems hoping wed get stuffed).

You'd have thought that Mancs would have enough to get excited about without pretending to be Makems...

My seat is pretty close to the away fans, They were by far the most arrogant that I've seen all season (even more than the Makems!) But apart from that I wouldn't complain about them not sitting down. I haven't sat down at any of the away games I've been to this season. Infact the only place I was repeatedly asked to sit down was at Old Trafford.

Maybe the idiots were just joining in with the "Stand up if you hate Man U" sing-song.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2001

Kats....define arrogant?....what u detected as arrogance was just a bunch of lads standing and singing their hearts out probably better than most away fans you get at SJP...loud...varied and plain funny...that's us :)

Where were U when you were s**te LR. Factually innacurate, Foul and abusive language Not funny , wearing sunderland shirts Just Sad.

Arrogant = offensively self assertive impudently over-presumptive

;-)

SUNDERLAND shirts?...get a feckin' grip..we don't even wear our own shirts...and BTW..where WERE U when you were crap(per)?

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2001

At the mo I sit very near the Away fans (one of the moved people), There were 5 lads in sunderland shirts at the match. I used to sit in the Gallowgate but moved to the Centre Paddock about the time when Keegan came as a player. Our lowest average season gate since the war is over 17000.

Sunderland shirts? Now that's sad.....going off buying other team's shirts to wear at an away match. Has ManU not released a new kit in the past month for them to buy then? ;-)

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2001

Oi....Kia Ora...watch that foot and mouth disease that's going around...or I'll have to remind you exactly how many shirts NUFC have put out in the last 4 years!!!!!

BTW..United fans wearing colours of the opposition's enemy i.e Sundeland is bollox....if those shirts were there then there were being worn by Sunderland fans who managed to source briefs...we're far too cool for that sorta crap.

WATPOAE

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2001

O so you couldnt sell yer tickets then LR?

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2001

Shut the feck up will ya...firstly I DON'T believe they were there..but if they were I can ONLY presume they were actual Sunderland fans. Oi Geordie...U trying to wind me up? :-)

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2001

I can confirm they were defo there as plain as day, they zipped their jackets up untill full time, then opened them up and displayed these horrid Barber shop tops.

Im not even gonna mention the three Mancs who started on a Mag for Nowt suffice to say two didnt get into the game think they spent an hour or so in the cells where they belonged.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh..what a shame :-)

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2001

Wind-up? Moi?

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2001

From today's Miror: Manchester United thought they had booked an exclusive hotel for the Champions League final only to find that Bayern Munich had beaten them to it.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2001

I think it's a bit silly to be complaining about them standing up.....we stand at most grounds....

If they're complaining about their behaviour or their existence on this planet then that's a different matter...

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2001

I stood at OT so have no objection to them standing at SJP!

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2001

Much as I'd like to, I just can't imagine manure fans wearing SAFC shirts - they surely cannot be that desperate. Arrogant maybe - desperate no.
In fact, I honestly find it difficult to imagine anyone in their right mind willingly donning that ridiculous Blackpool Rock vestment about their person - even the keenest mackem fan. Do they never look in the mirror?
A very obvious case for the Style Police to look into.

Smiler...a couple of seasons ago at Anfield we pissed ourselves at the Job Dodgers who were openly wearing Bayern Munich shirts and waving Bayern Munich flags...this was prior to our CL final but we laughed anyway...I just can't imagine MUFC fans actually BUYING these Sunderland shirts...doesn't make sense.

Hardly a fashion statement, or a prestige garment, LR!
