Picture Cathy saying: "The challenge this week is to build a foundry, or a place to cast metal. The teams will have to build furnaces hot enough to melt and then pour that liquid metal into a mold. This challenge promises to be very hot indeed!"

various models of furnace, illustrate casting into different types of mold materials lead's easy but scarey; maybe aluminum

Or perhaps a rolling glass smeltery. Only knock is you'll need two ways to go about it. Any wrecksperts on funace design out there?

Keep those ideas coming Linda. The one thing for sure that would kill JYW is a lack of things to build.

Yes copper and aluminum have low enough melting points to work. Copper from wiring on cars. Aluminum from wheels and engine parts. one team electricaly melting Al the other smelting Cu with fire.
