So, perhaps £3.5 mil in from Domi.....

Quinn and Gayle in for the same amount?

Money well spent given current circumstances?

I would say so, Pete.

Must be careful as it was only one game, but I was well impressed by Quinn yesterday - looked like he might be the genuine article.

I'm coming to believe there is some decent talent in the Nationwide that can be used to supplement a few genuine acquired stars, plus home-grown talent, in building a competitive squad - without needing to get involved in bringing in too many problemmatical foreigners, in particular the French, who seem to feel they are a law unto themselves. Actually, when I think about it, they're just the same in business!

I wouldn't read anything into Quinn's ability from a bizarre game like that. He certainly got stuck in but was seldom picked as an outlet (no doubt people didn't want to put him under undue pressure on his first day at work). You wouldn't have classed any defender as being worth a pinch of sh*te had Coventry put even half their chances away. Quite who he was meant to link with before Glass came on was also a mystery as Speed went across a few times but Bassedas appeared to be off in his alternate universe (where he is meant to be highly regarded incidentally).

Probably so Softie, but I thought he was our best defender by a country mile (I know - yet another one damned by faint praise!!).
