is there a version of the ati mmc that would work with win2000???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

seems like the ati mmc that i have on my computer is not interfacing with win2000 properly. i have the ati aiw radeon card and together with the card there were some programs, one of which is the tv tuner. on the tv tuner, there is this option for the sound...and having closed caption instead. when i clicked on it, it is not cancelling the sound. i believe this may be the problem that i am not able to capture sound using the video capture.

does anyone know the solution??? i doubt it is because i have connected it wrongly since i do hear sound coming in...just that that particular control on the tv tuner is not controlling the line-in correctly.

thanks.

I have the same card as you, I run Win 2000 and I had your problem. While ATI's software is not perfect, but it's not that bad either, my real problem was my sound card, so to speak. I have a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Plus Platinum card. This card has its own control panel and there are 2 separate volume control selections on it. I still don't know why there are 2 controls, but there are. Both controls MUST be set to In-Line and the volume must be turned up. I only had one of mine set up and once I set up both of them, everything started magically working and I have sound when I record. I haven't played with closed captioning under ATI, by the way.
