Goma had un stinker. Worst I've seen from him for ages. Dougal reckons Hoosie was MotM. Didn't do a lot wrong from where I sat. Midfield were too light - we were overrun.

IMO, Goma has a tendency to go to sleep on occasion and totally lose his marker - even when he is otherwise playing well. Whether this is just a tendency to 'ball watch' I''m not really sure.

I thought he had a bit of a 'mare' yesterday, hardly winning a single ball in the air, and he wasn't marking anyone particularly tall.

I didn't think Hughes played very well either - but his performance may well have been affected by Goma continually losing his man. Aaron has been outstanding so far this season, but I think he could do with a bit of a rest right now - and believe BR may have also suggested this a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, he ain't going to get it.

Screacher - I said no such thing. I thought Hughes was Ok but he suffered from Goma's distinct off day and Harper's mad clearances in the first half. Also, the midfield gave the defence no protection whatsoever. He made a blinding defensive header in the first half. He has played more games than any other player this season and probably could do with a rest but I think that's true of most of them. Incidentally, I've said this before and I'll say it again - our youngsters should learn by playing alongside world class players, not instead of them.

It said in one of today's red tops (can't remember which) that Tigana had offered 2 million for Goma, been told Toon wanted 4 million, so was considering throwing Lee Clark in as part of the deal! Snap his hands off Bobby if this is true (which I very much doubt).

Arrgghh.

We don't need Lee Clark (even if he is a Geordie) and do need Goma. Even if he had a mare on Saturday.
