-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Bad start to the commentary.......it was Uriah Rennie who sent Al off against Villa first game last season, not Jeff Winter as the commentator just said.........

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

I think the penny's still rolling around inside the piggy bank.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Gus.....yes got it and understand.......Andy is working on the Netcape problem so hopefully will be working soon.....do oyu like the new look of the site?

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Tre It was about the transfers etc after my comments you came back saying blah blah blah and I should think about blah blah, I wrote back that you must have misunderstood on of the lines as what I had said was exactly what you had said.

ITK, good luck with the netscape, I use MS. The new look fooled me for a minute, that is not hard however!! I do not know what the problem is but will work on my machine later tomorrow.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Sunderland 1 up.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Tre you in any danger of getting a job yet? Or still spending my tax money?

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Hi Gus! No, I broke my old toy, or somebody did! Haven`t had time to get to grips with my new toy yet. I haven`t even had time to download RealPlayer again yet, so I`m alternating between here and Gillette Soccer Special on the television! (:o)

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

It is pretty quiet on here today Gus - certainly miss Min leading the community singing! (:o)

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Mate where do you think I've been for the last 6 months!

I've still got my bar tenders job, so I've never been spending your tax money.

I'm also teaching. ESL teaching the refugees coming over by boat. Those who get their tempory visas anyway and end up in Brisbane. Predomonantly Afghanies and Iraqies.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Tre come off it. What do you think is paying your wages?

I hope you are teaching them "Howay the Lads" etc

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

How is Wayne Quinn doing?

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

All we need is someone who knows all the words and how to make the letters bold or move.

The only time I will ever admit needing hiro and he is probably watching Arse v Chel in the lounge!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

I've no excuse for not going to today's match. Still, I've done all my shopping and the flat is a gleaming new pin. What's the latest?

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

HI theerrr folks, at work again, this tiome with another Geordie!! So, webcast on loud and proud. What's everyone else up to? got the sound on?

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Gus - well people getting drunk and well the tax payers for the second one. Shudap.

Nah I'm trying to teach them Aussie vernacular first.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Hi all! Theres only one thing worse than this match....the connection! Anyone else having probs?

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Saha scores for Fulham.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Great- its offline.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

anyone else just get blown out of it........I suddenly got a female voice on the line and then a dialing tone.....anyone else have the same.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

I think the commentators have upped bags and gone home.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

No sooner have we been talking about the lack of activity and up jumps seedorf, TM and Gibbo.

seedorf he is not doing too bad, although he is not being mentioned too often.

1-0 nil to us Gibbo, team supplied bt vatos at the top of the thread

TM working? it is only 2:41

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

back on line again.....back to writing the CV

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Boksic scores for M'brough.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

spud and ITK I don't know what you 2 are on but I'll have a pint!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Can some one please do a half time report. I'm only listening to radio 5live and get updates as there's a goal.

I'm going for a smoke.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Im drinking milk, Gus- fancy a pint of it? :-)

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

What are you popping down with it then?

I'm off for some wine.

Back for kick off

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Afternoon everybody. A new day, NUFC get rid of Garry Brady at last and Speed comes back with another header. I only hope Shola can get on the end of a Quinn cross early on to set up a better 2nd half. Howay the lads. Just noticed the commentary on the goal,

"Gary Speed could only have had inches to play with!"

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Hello everyone, late again, but reading the thread it seems I didn't miss much. What was Speed's goal like?

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Hey gus, I'm not on anything at the moment.......I kep losing the connection to the commentary......I've been chopped off four time so far.

I'm logged on and listening at home while trying to put a CV together.....I've barely had the need for one thus far, having been at the Beeb for 21 years, but I'm being made redundant at the end of April so need to think up some facts and half truths to put to propective employers......ah well, 1-0 half time, will do for me.....three more in the second half lads.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

I'm thinking about going home again to water the plants and iron a few shirts.

Did you hear about the flea who won the lottery?
He bought himself a Great Dane in the Bahamas.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

PiC: you have probably heard already, but it was in the third minute, a corner swung in by Nobby, Speed comes in about 2 inches from the post to glance header into the net.....a goal too early?

It sounds pretty grungy since.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Gibbo

You'd probably be better off going home again to water a few shirts and and iron the plants!

How you doing mate?

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

"a goal to early"?, Perhaps Ken, are we to eff around again and give them a late one or two. We should come out and kill them off early second half.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Yes Gus, now 3.05, night shift, oh the joy!! Look on the bright side, I get to listen to the match!

GOOOOOOORRRRRRRRR'on man!!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Where'd Brady head off too?

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

The Ronnie reports that the club have bought out Brady's contract and released him.

Missed opportunity from Dyer there, he nees to take those.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

I suppose it is cheaper than paying him each week. Any Idea of the amount DeB?

What are you doing this morning then TM?

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

I'm fine. I hate this dating malarkey though. I can't just choose a shirt and then iron it - I have to iron all the shirts and then choose one. Does anyone else have this problem?

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Do we have the highest scoring midfield in the Premiership? and conversly the lowest scoring strike force in the EPL?

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

No mentionn of the amount, they could have done it months ago and saved some money!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Get here over first Gibbo, get her to either pick the shirt first or do the ironing for you!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Why are we defending so bloody much, we are supposed to be on the attack at home surely.

Gibbo, Do what I used to do........wear a jumper/jacket/waistcoat all of the time, and then you only need to iron the collar and top front of the shirt, by the time she see's you can't iron it properly you are half undressed and well under way anyway.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

This is an apalling performance- almost all Coventry. Get that fine young man, Glass on the field.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Hello everybody. Winter wetness in Seattle this morning. 1-0 ... its not enough I think by the sound of it.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Oooohhhh close one from Nobby there.....Hawway Lads, get it together

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

We need somebody!!!!!!

How many missed chances!!!

I'd get Cordone up front with Shola and let Dyer create something rather than make a mess of it.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Tre you are not missing much, you have seen the story of the goal, we are still giving the ball away as much as possible and encouraging them to run at us and then shoot.

Harper has made a couple of saves. Dyer and Solano have missed 2 sitters and Ameobi has just scored our second!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

Geordie Lad scores for UNITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

SHOLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA 2-0

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

AMEOBI AMEOBI AMEOBI...............YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Shola 2-0

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Congrats to Shola! Must be amazing to get ur 1st goal at SJP after coming up thru the ranks.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Yeahhhhhh Amoebi!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Now I hope we can play some football.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Shola for a hattrick !!!!!!!!!!!! Come on............

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Well that's this afternoon taken care of.........Where's that bliddy iron?

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Sorry to tell you Sounder, you have to log off and come back in 10 minutes.

Then we will see if it was your influence.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Go Shola.....................YESSSSSSSSSSSS!

See Dyer is better at creating!!!

Shola's deserved that and in good time with Villa coming up in midweek.

(Villa incidentally are getting whooped 3-0 by Liverpool. Liverpool without Fowler in the squad, he's moving this week then. Yorke not in the squad for Manure as well!) Boro 2-0 up, come on West Ham.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Radio 5live commentary ... and the Nigerian international Amoebi has just scored his first goal for Newcastle.

Geordie lad indeed!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Quinn seems to be having a decent game.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Nigerian international ???????????? Errrr!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Okay Gus ... logging off now!! But can I chose who scores when I come back?

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

The second half is better than the first for him, a little quiet first 45 mins

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

i know, i know...it's what they said.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

To the tune of the old Barry Manilow song 'Lola' His name was Shola
Shola Ameobi
He got the ball off Nobby there
and he didn't knock it square
it was marenog
and then its bango
and once he got himself all set
the ball was in net

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

On second thoughts stay here, I have us for a 2-0 win although I have the wrong scorer. ITK has 4-0 and Speed scoring

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Glass warming up. Who will Robson take off? Acuna?

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

hat coat scarf.....now you see why I'm soon to be unemployed!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

DYERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

3-0

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

More like it...sounded brill by DYER

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Dyer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Yes, lets sell Dyer to manure. Yes, lets sell Dyer to maure. We'd much rather have the money.

SILLY BOOGGERS

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

No No No if anyone else scores I'll start supporting the makems, unless we can get 5 of course

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Thing about Dyer is that they are such great goals - thats what we need at St, James.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

At the moment Sunderland are going to go second as Arse are only drawing with Chewsea.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Dyer always seem to come strong in the 2nd half- opposition dont seem able to keep up with his energy.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Now we've got some singing!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

You'd think YBR would make some substitutions at this point.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

we only sing when we're winning! ;-)

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Yeah -- we'll have to talk to the BBSers who go to games. Tell them WE need to hear THEM.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Barely heard a whimper in the 1st half when we were 1-0 up Tre :-) Get Glass on Bobby!!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Great. Glass and Quinn. Another couple to be expected.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Good Grief. That Damn consolation goal.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

That wasn't the goal I was expecting when Glass came on.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Bugger.....that's my 4-0 up the swanny......

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Own goal by Glass. doh!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Why ITK?

4 goals scored by NUFC players. ;-)

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Nobody getting full points this week.....PiC (4-1 Shola) and Geordie (3-1 Dyer) best placed for correct score with subsequent scorer each thus far.......who's gonna be right.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Howay, giz another one.......

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Don't encourage him Tre

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Howay Shola, one more goal lad, just one more today.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

How was it an own goal? Commentators on the NUFC webcast give it to Thompson - direct from a corner

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Good night all.

:-)

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

See you Tre

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Whew! They nearly got another. Got to keep tight at the back.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

3-1 win has got to be accepteable.....no matter how it was achieved.

The second half sounded better than the first, but three points is three points.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

HAWAY THE LADS!

Seems our midfield is really pulling us through.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

That makes my week ahead better. Something to grin about - at least until Wednesday. Since were going to win that one I can laugh for the rest of the week.

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Time for bed, goodnight everyone!

-- Anonymous, January 13, 2001

Cheers people.....'speak' to you later.......good luck with the ironing Gibbo.
