Sensational Dyer/Fowler swap talk ^top

Bobby Robson is understood to be willing to sacrifice Kieron Dyer in a swap deal that would see Liverpool's Robbie Fowler arrive on Tyneside. The latest speculation indicates that Robson is considering exchanging his England starlet for Fowler who will boost the Magpies' forward line with the injuries to Alan Shearer and Carl Cort. Both Dyer and Fowler are rated in the £12million bracket and transfer speculation has followed them both around over the last few months. Jari Litmanen's arrival at Anfield has prompted suggestions that Fowler's time on Merseyside is up. But the 25-year-old has said that he wants to stay with the Reds and Gerard Houllier has turned down a £12million bid from Aston Villa. Liverpool meanwhile, have apparently confirmed their interest in Dyer and both clubs could agree on a straight player-exchange deal.

I sincerely hope this is just twaddletalk, what use is a striker who thrives on through balls into the box , when theres no-one to provide said balls. For me Dyer is worth more than RF.

Last thing we want is a L'pool cast-off on the way down in his career for our Dyer who is really starting his career and is on the up 'n up. I hope this is bo!!ox

The Torygraph reckon that Fowler may be on his way to Villa. It's a huge gamble for whover ends up buying him. Could be the deal of the decade if he can regain his form of three years ago.

This one had better just be twaddletalk. Otherwise I suspect the Toon Army could be on the march - to Freddie Shepher's hoose to lynch him!
Next stop - POLAND!!!

Ignoring the horror of possibly losing YKD, what's everyone's problem with Fowler?

His goal scoring stats are comparable with big Al; 284 first team appearances, 164 goals (AS 492 games, 266 goals). He's just 25, and has had about 18 months up and down with injury.

If Liverpool want shot, then go get him.

Yep by all means sign fowler id love to see him at ST James' , but not in exchange for YKD

this is ludicrous - i would seriously be surprised if there was the slightest grain of truth in this story.

it's frankly, pants.

Adapting the appropriate section of the Dad's Army training manual, 'PANIC, PANIC, MR. MAINWARING'.

If this turns out to be true, it's another nail in the coffin of NUFC's credibility as far as I'm concerned - and there are already 37,418,816 through the lid already.

And if it does come off, filfy fred had better cancel this 'face the fans' session he's lining up, cos his worthless life will be even less worth living.

This is utterly unbelievable.

Duncan,

The problem, in my mind anyway, with Fowler is that he looks like damaged goods. He would come VERY expensive, and it would be a massive risk for us to take in our situation.

I just couldn't see Liverpool off-loading him if they really thought he was capable of playing regularly, and recapturing his previous goalscoring form. I suspect his ankle problem may be career-threatening.

Surely with the Ferguson situation and Cort now concerning most people the last thing we need is player with an injury history like Fowler's.

Bloody Hell, that taxi driver really was/is psycho. Ask him for the lottery numbers. If you buy a ticket with those numbers it will surely come up some time in the next what 6 years?

We can't sell or exchange Dyer, for any one or for any price.

Yes we need a striker as good as or better than we have, but can't sacrifice Dyer or any of our other good players.

What we need is for BR to go out any buy the likes of Matt Jansen or Clinton Morrison for four or five million. That'll shut the Midas's and team twaddles up and give the team what it needs.

Surely Fearless Freddie does not make decisions on purchases all on his own! I just can't see YBR wanting another injury prone player. It seems to go against what he has done over the past 18 months which is generally to buy young players. Frankly we have not done nearly as badly as I thought we might with no Shearer, Cort, or Gallagher. I'd rather stick out with our present difficulties than give Dyer to 'Pool or, yet worse, to the Scum.

hahahahahahahah Rik!

Clinton Morrison. And everyone thought I was nuts.

Seeya Liverpool.

Latest tittle-tattle from Tittletattletalk is Bolton's interest in Kevin Gallagher. They reckon he might be made available for loan (fat chance!), or on a free at the end of the season (quite possible).

They also reckon Taggart wants Fred Kanoute for £15 million - I wonder if that instead of YKD, or as well as?

At least YKD is obeying YBR and being a good boy. Bobby told him he needed to start scoring good goals to make people in the country sit up and take note. Anyone watching MOTD will no doubt have been very impressed with Dyer over the last 2 months. Thats 3 goals now which were almost as good if not better than Owens goal vs Argentina.
