living in filth

I just don't understand how people can smoke in their cars and then ever go back in them again. What common living habits do you find disgusting?

Nasty dirty floors that people walk on without wearing socks or shoes and they expect me to do the same. Ick. Toilets that aren't cleaned regularly. Smoking ANYwhere. People that let their animals shit and piss all over the house just because they aren't outside animals.

wearing shoes in the house, not flushing after you pee (my roommates do this), not washing your eating utensils before you use them, not washing your hands after you pee...

My boyfriend's old roommate didn't even bother with a bowl for her german shepard's food- she would just dump the dog food into a pile on the floor. I especially enjoyed walking into the living room and getting bits of dogfood (including bits of cut up weiners) mashed into the bottom of my socks!

Okay, maybe I'm anal but I find it really disgusting to step into shower and find hair and other pieces of thngs that resemble dried snot.

I also hate sharing a fridge with my roomie who regularly grows science experiments with her leftovers. Then, because she can't smell this crap, it stays in there festering and changing color until I can slip it out into the trash. Yuck.

I can tolerate any level of filth. This is not a redeeming quality.

I think that once filth starts to involve food, it becomes intolerable. My home and cube at work are completely filled with clutter, but none of it is anything that will start to mold. Because of this aversion to food mess, one thing that bugs the hell out of me is a messy kitchen. A sink full of dirty dishes and food particles soaking in water is a biohazard waiting to happen.

I cannot stand it when people mix different types of clutter and garbage, especially those involving food and body parts. Pile of clothes on the floor? OK. Pile of dirty dishes by the sink? OK. Pile of papers on the bed? OK. Pile of cosmetics, brush and comb, etc. on the table? OK.

Pile of clothes, dirty dishes, papers, brush and comb, etc. anywhere? Not OK.

Or, how about the people where you go over to their house and all they can do is apologize profusely over and over that they are sorry for how totally messy their house is, and it is totally SPOTLESS! I mean, seriously spotless! It makes you feel like you should stand in the middle of the room and make sure not to touch anything, ever, period. I would much rather visit a home where it at least looks lived in!

What I can't stand is when people let their catbox go too long. Or, when they leave dishes soaking in a sinkful of water and it's been there for a while, and a kind of grease-skim appears on the top of the water. Eeeewwww....
