I met a local wedding shooter whose work I really love. I asked what he uses for altar lighting and he pulls out a modified 283 with a bare bulb and a 5" parabolic reflector. He gave me Armatos' number and they no longer offer these. *sigh* I really need to find a supplier for these flashes. They're light and powerful. All the things I need for weddings. Please help.....

Answers

Try the Sunpak J120 TTL or the Quantum T2. Both are rated at around 150 G.N.(160 G.N. for the Quantum flash)and have parabolic relfectors. Lumedyne also makes a flash system with the paabolic flash head.

The Quantum Q-flash, the Sunpak 120J, aswell have the Nikon SB-2X series and the Canon flashes have done a pretty good job of killing off the modified 283 market. I have an Armatar 300 that works great (I powerit with either a Dyna-Lite Jackrabbit battery or the Quantum Turbo) and I used to really want the Stussy NVs, but alas it is no more. Something else to look at now are the new TTL heads and packs from Lumadyne.
