Striker on loan ideas, again!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

It's probably been said before, but here goes anyway..

After watching last nights worthless cup match between Palace and Liverpool, I noticed that Fow*er didn't get a look in, again. Now Houlier has said he doesn't want to sell him, so how about we look at taking him on loan until the end of the season. Does any one think a) He's worth a try and b) if he would come if allowed?

On another note, Clinton Morrison looked good, as usual. Didn't we try to sign him a while back?

Celtic left for their winter break to Fla last night leaving Mark Burchill behind , just a thought. While they are out there they will be linking up and guests of Tampa B R and Ray Hudson (remember him)

We couldn't get Fowler on loan as a Premiership club cannot loan a player to another Premiership club, except in truly exceptional circumstances i.e. No goalkeepers left.

Why get Burchill (though I'd love to see him in a toon strip) when we're flat out giving Lua Lua and Coppinger a run in the senior side with the top 4 senior players injured.

well Carl Cort counts as senior even though he's only 22.

Notts Forest are expected to sign David Johnson from Ipswich for £3 million pounds.

I can't imagine that Forest are that secure a club financially, so how can they justify spending this cash whena decision over transfers is imminent? This is really confusing me with regard to clubs splashing the cash!

DB,

Decisions to spend significant sums of money on transfers right now boils down purely to management judgement. That judgement will consider the particular circumstances prevailing at the individual Club, and how they feel the issue will shake out - there is no right or wrong answer.

Some will get it right, some wrong - who's judgement is correct will only become apparent when the final ruling has been made.
