Cleo treating kids?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

It seemed strange to me that Cleo was working on the father, rather than the son, since she's supposed to be a pediatrician. Anybody have any thoughts on why?

I thought that was very odd too, Felicity.

Maybe because they were short on docotors? Mark and Elizabeth are in NY. Deb is on maternity leave. Dave is doing the paramedic ride along thing. So they may have short staffed and she helped.

How do they define pedes anyway? Is a teenager really that different (medically) from an adult?

Peds cases are considered kids under 18, although you can be a teenager and be attended by a regular doctor. We've seen the rest of the staff treating teens and kids, and we've seen Cleo treating kids, teens, and adults. It all depends on how busy it is. Maybe Cleo was tending to another patient? She didn't linger around much with the father either, and since Weaver had the son, maybe she just went back to peds (although there are probably more ped ghosts). As far as I'm concerned, she's the only pediatrician in the ER, so I can see how she can get busy.
