Hi massa Unc.

We will be going to Tampa and staying round Reddington Shores area.

Cant wait....heat...ahhhhhhhh

-- sumer (shh@aol.con), January 12, 2001.

I LOVE the Reddington Shores area.....sigh..... 'sumer, while you're there, take a drive up to Indian Shores (?) -- not far; maybe 15 minutes; make reservations at a restaurant called The Salt Rock Grill.

Have the King Crab Legs.....my favorite dish in one of my favorite restaurants.............

They split them right down the middle and grill them on this huge BBQ/grill. They serve them with drawn butter (kept warm over a sterno -- simple concept that most restaurants haven't "discovered" yet), and loaves of fresh-baked sourdough bread with an olive oil-and-herb dipping dish. With a nice Chardonnay.............(French, if you can get it)

Drool............

(Try for a window seat.....you can look out over the Gulf. Or if the temp's right, sit out on the deck; same view.)

-- (PatriciaS@lasvegas.com), January 12, 2001.

Hi Pat, thanks for the 'tip'. I did Indian Shores scenic view last time, but I WILL hook up at the restaurant.....I luv seafood.

My son is living in Reddington Shores with my sister right now.

Cant wait till june.

Hello all,

I am writing this from my mom's house in Ky,she passed away wed from complications from heart arithmia(sp?)we buried her yesterday on a beautiful sunny and somewhat warm day,the 1st nice day in a couple of months, how poetic.

I really don't have the heart to write what i feel right now, just wanted to check in with you all and let ya know I haven't fell off the face of the earth,it is somehow nice to come here and get a little feeling of normality,if there is such a thing.

I will probably log on tonight when all is quiet again and the void is ever more apparent in this house. Thanks for being here.

capN:

So sorry to hear about your lose. In this your time of need you are in my prayers and I am sure in the prayers of everyone here.

Time is too slow for those who wait,

too swift for those who fear,

too long for those who grieve,

too short for those who rejoice,

but for those who love, time is eternity.

Capn, I'm very sorry for your loss.

-- helen (b@r.f), January 14, 2001.

Capn,

Truly, our prayers are with you during this difficult time. Reach out if you need, we are here for you. I am so sorry for your great loss.

-- B (Aunt__Bee@hotmail.com), January 14, 2001.

Each loss of a loved one tears a piece out of our heart, leaving a hole which can feel cavernous, cold and empty. Perhaps there's none so intense as the loss of our mother.

No words of wisdom, no philosophy, no BS, capn. I'm truly sorry.

-- Rich (howe9@shentel.net), January 14, 2001.

So sorry capn.

Peace and Love

-- Peg (pegmcleod@mediaone.net), January 14, 2001.

You're in my thoughts, my friend.....

-- (PatriciaS@lasvegas.com), January 14, 2001.

Capn,

I haven't been around much as of late, but someone e-mailed me this (thank you as you know who you are). While I wish to pass along my prayers to you as all the others, I would also like to pass along a simple thought.

Capn, your mother must have been one fine lady to have raised a son such as yourself. Always know that she is with you and will guide you on this journey known as life. Be open and listen to the instruction that she will pass onto you, as a mothers love never dies.

Keep the memory of her alive deep within your heart, and she will always be with you just the way you wish her to be.

Again, sorry for your great loss.

Sheeple

-- sumer (shh@aol.con), January 15, 2001.

Many, many thanks to each and every one of you fine people,I am truly blessed to each and every one of you, either cyberly or personally.A bid hug to you ALL.

I type this on the puter I convinced my mom to get after her retirement, something to keeep her mind challenged and for us to keep in constant touch with sinse my move to nashville after my wifes death,it was one of the best things I ever dogged her into doing, after she got into the groove of using a puter she was hell on wheels and surpassed even my expectations as she hooked the pc up to some fancy sewing machines and downloaded different things to sew, embroider etc...

Then I look around I see the laptop I bought for her for when she was on the road or for taking to the fancy sewing class she loved to take, damn she loved that little laptop,if for nothing else playin' mongjon(sp?),she was just plain proud of it.

Mom wasn't just my mom,she was my bestest friend, right there beside my late wife.We had been through hells half acre in our time, with me being the father of the house during my adolescence after dad divorced and took off, raising my sister and rehabing her from prescription drug addiction and depression and then her dealing with my wildness. We became the best of friends, able to talk unabahadley about anything under the stars, she was a great lady,a good ol' girl if there ever was.

I wrote her a song a few years ago and will post it when I get back to Nashville, whenever that is,as a tribute to the greatest woman I have ever known.

Thanks again my friends,I am twice blessed by your acquaintance and heartened by your words and sentiments.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), January 15, 2001.

hey capn~!

We'll be looking forward to hearing your song about a very special lady. Thanks for sharing with us, some of your special memories of your best buddy.

-- B (Aunt__Bee@hotmail.com), January 15, 2001.

So sorry for your loss Capn. She must have been a good mom, she raised a good son.

-- Lars (larsguy@yahoo.com), January 15, 2001.

So sorry to hear of your loss, Cap'n. Hope you get lots of non-virtual hugs, too! (((Cap'n)))

-- Tricia the Canuck (jayles@telusplanet.net), January 15, 2001.

Capn,

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care of yourself.

-- Debra (Thisis@it.com), January 15, 2001.

capn

So sorry to hear about this. Saying a prayer for yall right now.

Deano

-- Deano (deano@luvthebeach.com), January 16, 2001.

What Deano said....

I've lost both parents and have some idea what you're going through. One thing that helped was occasionally getting away and seeing a funny movie. I didn't feel like laughing, but just changing environments and doing something "normal" helped me.

-- kb (kb8um8@yahoo.com), January 16, 2001.

Cap'n, I always knew you were a great guy, but reading what you wrote about your relationship with your mom was really impressive. And you are a Mac man too! No wonder your Mom loved you so much.

I won't tell you that I know how you feel, or that I'm sorry, because I hated hearing those things when my Mom died. So just take good care of your self, and take all the time you need.

And take good care of that G4 too -- what a sweet machine. (Have you seen the new titanium G4 Powerbooks? Hot, hot, hot!)

-- Mac the Knife (long_time_pal@w/new.name), January 16, 2001.

Capn and all--

I heard from Oxy today. Her dad died unexpectedly yesterday in Cleveland. He was 87. Oxy wrote a short poem about her dad's death. She read it to me. It was good. I hope she will publish it here sometime.

She is still in the nursing home. Her son is visiting tonight. She has been having phone/computer problems. Healthwise, she has had constant nausea for unknown reasons and so is not eating well. Her phone is 1-813-615-1338

-- Lars (larsguy@yahoo.com), January 16, 2001.

Hello again all,

You guys are one terrific bunch and it makes me proud to be a part of your community,I can't help but reflect on a thread a few weeks ago that FS had where Rich longed for a tight cyber village, well Rich, this is my exhibit A,God bless yaw'll,you are good people.

The silence rolls through the house now as all the well wishers have gone back to normality and the business of death and life are the conversations of the day,the brutal truth of it all is inescapable and is no longer considered a passing nightmare but a reality that is better faced than ignored, but damn reality is a bitch.

Take care my friends.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), January 17, 2001.

Lars,

Thanks for the update! I'm sorry to hear about her father.

Capn I'm sorry about your loss. Would that I could take you out for dinner ((((((HUG))))))

I haven't been here much, I was "downsized" but got a new job three days later. It pays more, but it doesn't leave me much energy to hang in cyberspace.

KB, I'll email that list to you at your yahoo address soon.

Best to everyone!
