I have convert a asf format video file to a mpg format video file using virtual dub and dvmpeg5.0. After which i burn the file into a vcd using a nero cd burner. The vcd is able to produce quality pictures and sound but the colour is wierd. The scenes on the vcd slowly become more red and after a moment it turns back to normal. The process keeps repeating for the whole show. can anyone help.

This seems like a case of copy-protection. The original source of that asfvideo format file may have been Macrovision-protected and the effects of the copy-protect at work were carried over onto your VCD. Does your original source file play properly??

Well, i dont know about asf, but MPEG-1 cant carry any kind of copy protection at all. if the original source had the protection and the video stream got messed up as it was copying, then yes, the effects will be in the VCD stream, but a VCD itself cant hold a copy protection. (IE, look at the asf file.. the problem lies there)
