The scan was made from a print on a flatbed (I'm trying). The image was shot with a Mamiya M645 1000s with a Mamiya Sekor-C 55mm f2.8 lens. I know the scan sucks for the medium size but I wanted to get some feedback on the image. Apologies to the scan-masters.

Pretty image and colors. I like the way my eye travels from the top left to the bottom of the image. I find the trees at the top right kind of distracting, though. I like the image that you get if you crop the left third of the image out and just keep the right two thirds. You lose the continuity of the water, but the elements in the image are simplified a bit.

I'm ok with the composition, sense of distance and the subtle color scheme. The rippled sand in the foreground brings you into the picture. I'm a little confused by the grey shape beyond the trees on the left. The top of it is too sharp to be trees in the distance. Rock? Mike

Thanks for the feedback! The flat-topped object in the distance is a headland (i.e. rock) on the island. Good obeservation. I also think the cropping idea is a good one. Choices, choices...thanks.
