Why won't Robson play Hamilton?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

It seems to me that Des Hamilton is one of the clubs best young players yet he never gets a game. Now that Dyer is suspended, we should emply Hamilton in the creative position behind the striker. I know he is a wingback/fullback but his skill on the ball is unmatched and his uncanny footballing brain would excell in this role. Any thoughts?

Just the one Nick - you need therapy !

You round to Andy's to watch the Villa match this Sunday morning ?

True, but I still feel sorry for Hamilton. He can't be that bad - I just wish he'd restart his career elsewhere.

I've seen DH in a few Resorve matches. Hasn't inspired at all, apart from a cracking volley at Croft Park which sailed into the net. One of 9 that day so he had a bit of competition (within his own side tho clearly not from Blyth).

Just get rid and cut the wage bill. He might have talent but if so, why has nobody made an offer, despite being out on loan?

I kid you not but my first thought was that they play in Scotland.

When YBR came the slate was wiped clean on player's records and YBR gave everyone a chance to show what they could do (hence the resurrection, for example, of Lee and Pistone). I'm sure that if Hamilton is good enough YBR will have noticed. On another thread the talk is of him being sold to Tranmere.

Does the expression "hee haw" offer a clue, Nick?

He must be a fantastic player judging by the transfer fee we paid, not to mention wages. Another 4 or 5 years and he will shine.

I agree Tony, definitely one for the future. His ball skills are superb and he must be one of the best tacklers at the club. Coupled with his ability to get forward and create chances, I believe that Bobby must be nuturing this rare talent before unleashing Super Dezzie as our secret weapon in our push for Europe. He's English as well.

dread, you not getting him mixed up with Marcelinofinger are you?

you're all forgetting his positional play. He's simply here there and everywhere. Never seen a player read the game like he does - not since Pedro anyway.....
