Titus Bramble

I know most of you don't have the time or inclination to monitor players from other teams, but has anyone been impressed by Titus Bramble of Ipswich.

There is a lot of speculation that both Goma and Marcellino will be off over the summer, if not beforehand. Leaving us with Hughes and Dabizas (remember him) probably as our first choice central defensive pairing, and the young Caldwells as our only backups.

If we were to sign two central defenders, what would be our chances of getting Bramble and his possible price?

Not much chance of getting him from Ipswich and his price would probably be in the £5 mill bracket as he's a young English potential international. I watched him against Spurs when Ipswich as a whole were playing well and Bramble made too many basic mistakes for me.

I'd rather sign Fabian Wilness.

Top prospect; no way Ipswich would sell him unless 'silly' money was offered - well in excess of £5mm.

BTW Tre, I would expect Steve Caldwell to be pushing for a regular spot next season, with brother Gary - who is reputed to be an even better player - coming along behind. However, I still believe we need to buy one commanding centre half.

If Marcellino and Goma go, although both show no sign of leaving, we will undoubtedly need what we have needed for a long time, a commanding centre half at the back who is prepared to do all the dirty work and shout at the defence.

I agree with Clarky that in Caldwell and Caldwell we have players who should be allowed the chance to shine in the Premiership. Those two along with Hughes and the new rock in defence would be enough to go along with.

Players like Bramble have made their mark because they have been given a chance and a run in the team irrespective of the odd mistake.

I've got Titus Bramble on my CM2001 team. I bought him after seeing him get lots of young player of the month awards. I paid about £5 million for him when Ipswich were relegated. Now he's in my team .... he's crap.Ever Moas that famous Uryguayan is a much better prospect, and would fit in well with our collection of Spanish speaking South Americans.
