From the responces I have recieved I think I wasnt as clear on what was needed. We would like to purchace or receive free a dog of around a year or so that is trainable (comes from heard dog lines ie aussie,border collie). Picking the dog up wouldnt be a problem if it would be in an area from Houston Tx to Stilwell Oklahoma or either side a few miles.Any further would have to have it shipped in.Thanks.

Charles, I live in Giddings. There are Border Collies and Aussies and Blue heelers and Red Heelers dropping out of the sky. They are usually free for the asking at the pound if the animal control guy feels you are a good person. One thing about borders and Aussies both. They take 2 years to get out of puppyhood and they require a very fair hand at training. If you want email me and I can talk with the vets assistant and see who has free dogs. We actually have a no kill shelter here now.
