Anthropological Study cancelled

Happy New Year all!

With no Metro running and not much else to do yesterday, I thought joining an anthropologic expedition to a nearby primate preserve would be an interesting and different way to spend NYD.

After a hearty breakfast and dressing in blue jeans and grey top (black and white scarf put away), chosen so as to not incite the primates who, I'm told, get a bit riled at the site of black and white articles, I set off on the hike from Jesmond to Central Station...supposedly the beginning point of this expedition.

Upon arrival at CS, I noticed they had brought a few of the primates up to hang about in their red and white finery. Advertising? Off I went to the ticket office to find out what time the tour bus(train) ran. Last train back from the preserve at 430p. So much for my expedition which reqyired observation until at least 445pm. I wasn't prepared for an overnight expedition as I'm only a beginner in these studies.

Having returned home in time to listen to the 2nd half of the Leeds match yesterday, it's just as well my primate expedition had to be called off! Never mind. A lovely day was spent walking around Toon. The Quayside was lively. The new bridge beautiful! A far nicer way to spend New Year's Day. :-)

And a guid new year to you too, Ciara.

Hope you all enjoyed your chips after the Strawbeery.

My liquid refreshment stood me in very good stead until well into Sunday afternoon.

Enjoy the Spores game tonight.

WHY?

What possessed you to go to that dump? I went once but it was when i was 12 and i needed a pair of jeans from Geordie Jeans and that was the only branch they had them in stock. You went by choice? Strange lass. I suppose the PMT does that sometimes.

pre/post-millennium tension, that is. :-)

I didn't go, though. Just curious to study the chimps in their habitat. ;-)

Actually had hoped to get to Leeds but with journey time each way estimated around 3hrs, wasn't that keen on it.

Yes, PB, quite enjoyed the chicken and chips. Not nearly enough to drink. This blasted cold has put quite a damper on things. Slowly clearing up, so hopefully I'll be in better form by next weekend. Or even by tonight.

HOWAY THE LADS!!

Hmmm....should've gone to Durham. You'd have got a better idea of 'northern life' at Beamish than in Leeds. Not much to see, really. Not in the city centre anyway. Harrogate and Knaresboro' are better bets. If you like Paul Daniels and Mother Shipton's Cave....[not a lot]
