Success! Happy New Year once again to all of you and I wish you and your families every happiness throughout the coming year and beyond.

Let's hope that happiness gets an additional lift in this first week with our first win in London since the Middle Ages and a place in the 4th round of the Cup. What will the song be I wonder?

2001. Twenty-o-one, I guess we should say. Already famous because of the brilliant movie (one of my all time top 10 faves). Also the date of the "real" millenium, meaning it's exactly 2000 years since the year that Christ wasn't actually born in but the one that we traditionally assumed he was. More significantly to the Magpie, it is the Silver Jubilee year of The Messiah, 50 AK (After Keegan).

Also The Archers is 50 years old today. As I usually have R4 on most of the time, I've heard the odd several hundred episodes and have grown to, if not love, then at least regard the characters I first listened to sitting on me mam's knee as a part of the landscape.
