Can i record a vcd onto a vhs tape

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have a All in wonder 128 video card. and i can watch vhs tapes if i hook my vcr to it. Is there any software i need to record a VCD out onto a VHS tape, without any flaws? If so please tell me what i need and how to do it.

Thanks

Do you have a DVD ?, if YES, just play your DVD and record in you VCR, if no you must have a video capture card that has AV outup so you can record back to VHS. Dazzle DVC hase that, but I tell you what don't record back to VHS if you all ready have a DVD player, just burn to VCD, SVCD or DVD even a better quality. When I tried to record my home video back to VHS the video quality was very poor.

your best bet is to get a tv card. whatever you see on your PC monitor you will see on your tv. A friend of mine has one and it works great. the dazzles output for tv/vcr can suck it. It will give you major problems and most of the tiume i get no sound. In the end for proper outpiut from dazzle i would need a soundcard (not the one that already came with the PC) and a proper video card that would let me output--

I use the Dazzle Video Creator (USB version) with no problem. I have an ATI Rage Fury Pro Video card and 96 Mb of Ram. I copied a video from my 8MM Sony camera to an AVI file, then did converted it to VCD format (mpeg1) then copied it to a CDR using NTI CD-2000 Professional. I can now play my home videos on VCD using the APEX AD703 DVD player. I went into a local electronics store and tested it on 10-12 DVD players and this was the only one that would play a CDR VCD without intermittent pauses. It works great!
