AAre we a little more fluid with these two, when Lee plays we seem to be static.

Hard to be certain but im delighted they're both starting to settle into the premiership. At around 4 million for the 2 of them surely YBR has done a good job in sorting out midfield. Bassedas I reckon hasnt been able to show his full talent out on the left but he often seems to pick out quality passes when involved and appears to be a tough character. I think the future of our central midfield will be Acuna and Bassedas and they seem to be great buddies(Acuna was desparate to celebrate with Bassedas after his Leeds goal) Cant see Bassedas displacing Speed in the centre though, for now, as Speeds proving to be invaluable with his tough tackling and ariel ability.

It was good listening to the game on Radio 5Live. For most of the game the commentators kept mentioning Bassedas and Acuna as the dominating midfield players. You really didn't hear mutch of Speed untill Aucna went off, and then it was Speed and Bassedas winning everything.

The commentators made one interesting point about Acuna, and that was that they reckong he'll probably carry to mutch weight, as in have a weight problem. They also said he's probably to small for the premiership.

Cant see how hes too small- hes certainly stocky enough- yes he got thrown off the ball by Yorke on MOTD but thats cos the ball took a high bounce and he didnt get it under control. So hes certainly strong enough- height wise from what ive seen of him particularly live at West Ham he can get up to a good height for heading the ball.

Acuna is small but he can't half jump, He's stocky but he can't half run. As for his tackling, I though South Americans didn't know how to, He's proved them wrong.

The trouble with Bassedas to me is he dosen't stand out. Litterally, on the pitch from my seat he looks so much like Hughes and Speed that I'm never 100% sure of who is on the ball. Our midfield though has improved since they both started to play in the team. My only question is IF, you want to balance the midfield you need Glass on the left, he was brilliant when he came on, but who do you leave out?

I was very impressed by Acuna yesterday. Short and stocky with that Maradonna build but best of all he gives 100% and has put some bite into the side. Hopefully he’ll get better and better and give us a foundation to build on
