-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

Dyer had a cross/shot, hard across the box. Ameobi slid in and caught it on his shin from about a yard and it rocketed over the bar. Open Goal

COME ON BOYS!!!!!!!!! UP AND AT `EM!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

Come on Newcastle - we only need 2 goals in 68 minutes

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

you always get impartial views from him.....

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

I'd agree with that. Giggs fell very easily for the first

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

barry, I'd settle for one (though that's unlikely) and hope they don't get another

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

Galaxy Is this live on Sky in the UK?

THERE'S ONLY ONE BOBBY ROBSON,

OOOONNNNEEEE BOBBY ROBSON.....

WALKING ALONG, SINGING A SONG, WALKING IN A ROBSON WONDERLAND....

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

No Barry - we`ve just got the results coming in on the Gillette Soccer Special. It is about thirty seconds ahead of the webcast though.(:o)

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

You'd pay the entrance fee for that moment alone. Great sliding (late) tackle by Bassedas on Beckham.

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

I got confused when Kegsy was talking about a penalty and we were still down the other end attacking...!

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

If we don't get tired and keep going like we have so far, I think there's always a chance of getting a goal or two - we've already had one really good chance. We just need a little bit of luck. And to withstand the usual last 10 minutes of pressure that ManU always apply.

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

I think we must be about a minute ahead of the webcast

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

Why is the webcast always behind? Is it the buffering of the streaming ?

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

agree. Hopefully their thoughts will drift thinking the job's done. We just have to keep at them and get stuck in....the chances will come....

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

We can do it Barry! As long as they don`t get another one.(:o)

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

we're pressing them with little effect and they look dangerous on the break. Dyer looks very sharp but Aemobi looks out of his depth.

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

What we desperately need is width down the left side of midfiled. I see that glass is on the bench. I'd definately play him early in the second half.

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

Solano, played it across the six yard box, past the defenders and behind our two players. Bugger

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

AAARRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHH - I thought we had one in there! COME ON LADS - KEEP PRESSURING THEM!!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

He's only 19, with bugger all experience against the runaway Prem leaders!!!?

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

Another good chance, just that bit of luck missing. Let's keep on trying , we can do it

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

It's coming.......

HOWAY!!

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

Hiro, spot on about Amoebi, I'd bring on Cordone for him at h-t. He hesitates too much. I know Lua Lua doesn't pass, but at least he seems to keep hold of the ball

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

Dyter's having a great game, but I think that he will be marked a bit more tightly in the second half

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

A goal just before half time - let's do it

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

Arsenal 2 Sunderland 0

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

Send him off!!

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

should have been booked. No doubt he'll get booed every time he touches the ball

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

well, that's a bit of half time festive cheer!

Silvestre should be OFF he hasn;'t even booked him. I forgot Mike Riley did comdey as well as tragedy. git.

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

was riley the pr*ck who sent off Hamman at Liverpool?

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

not sure kegsy...

HT.

HEADS UP LADS!

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

half time

we don't deserve to be one down. NH have had less possession and less chances. The penalty wasn't. The foul on Butt was. Dyer and SOlano have been our best players by far and IF we get a goal it will come through them. Amoebi needs to be rested as does one of Acuna/Bassedas/Speed and bring on Glass.

If we get a bit of luck in the second half we could snatch a goal but their counter attack worries me.

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

There's still hope! John Motson on the TV just said that we have had the better of the game so far and have been unlucky with the two very clear chances, and that it still could be anyone's game.

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

Afternoon all. Sounds a cracker, and we're not beaten yet. The chimps are getting a football lesson at Highbury.

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

cheers kegsy. the eyes have it... Grit, determination, fight....that's what will get us something out of this game. I'm thinking it's payback time for Cantona's 1-0...

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

I feel we'll need a bit of luck early on in the second half.

I feel I need another broon........of to the fridge.

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

HOWAY LADS!

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

Just arrived back in Holland Min after a short 'family Xmas' visit. Only time I've been back this year and every time I return I feel more like a tourist. Overpriced trains that don't run on time (if at all), and people talking about things I've completely missed (whose Bob the Builder?). Took my girlfriend to her first ever Toon match, but the lads were dire against Derby. Her comment 'the team played awful but the fans were great' seems very familiar. Couldn't get to the Leeds game so maybes its my fault. Heres hoping for another comeback. Hows NZ? HOWAY THE LADS!

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

Half Time Telly Report. We started brightly, Dyer was everywhere, MOTM so far by a mile. The penalty was a typical Giggs "looking for a penalty" move. Into the box from the left, cut in front of Griffin and a lovely nine point five. griff never touched him. Ref is a Moan U fan, should have sent off Sylvestre for a neck high tackle on Bassedas, only a warning. This after booking Bassedas for a late challenge on Spice Boy. and so it went on. Young Ameobi should have scored, skying in front of an empty net from a yard out. In his defence he did very well to get there.

Pretty even match overall, however I can't see us coming back. Harper is solid, brilliant stop on Yorke when he was through. Defence is pretty solid, Goma and Hughsie playing very well. Midfield are running their socks off, all of them, and like I said, Dyer is having a brilliant game. The young lad Ameobi had a solid first half, still half a thought behind but gaining valuable experience.

Howay the lads!!!!

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

Bit of sportsmanship from Gary Neville and others towards Gary Speed. If they could only do it more often they could have been everyone's second favourite team. Like in '68. But it's too late for them now

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

-- Anonymous, December 30, 2000

What the hell happened to the web-cast? sounded like the plug got pulled. Caught the last minute on 5-live and we were on the back foot which doesn't change the fact that we came back against the Red Swine and matched them, playing like tigers with the fans in magificent form. 4 points out of 2 difficult home games. After the Derby fiasco I'm delighted.

Happy New Year Min, and everyone. I think Ciara should be forced to stay and watch the lads every week. She brings good luck. Night all.
