problem with sound glitch maybe tmpg????

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

ok, by accident i captured some files(clips) and it turned out they sound only comes out of the left speaker (fixed the problem, had a bad wire). So i opened up the mpeg in soundforge and now made it a wave file. from there i input this into the tmpg program and made it an mp2 (at 44100 stero 224) I then remuxed this back with the original file. Now upon watching it on my homedeck (pioneer 525,as my 606d wont read this kind of cdr) it plays fine for the first 10mins or so then the sound starts to glitch and you can notice it. I have made tons of vcds and never had a problem like this. It also happend with the second disc i made for this film. I thought maybe it was the media so i tried a cdrw and i still had the same results. So i am wondering if the tmpg is doing something to the file? I used to use the panasonic encoder if i had to make a wave into an mp2 audio, but tmpg seemed actually quicker for this. When i did the remux with it, i did have the video cd template selected. Does tmpg do something to the file?? Any help would greatly be appreciated--thanks

hmm maybe it is something thati did? I noticed that i had it set as an audio file instead of maybe using an audio "system file". After all this is what i use when i make a video cd so making a sound file under the same template would techinacally mean the samething?? Well i will try that out--

yup, solved my own problem. This can also be helpful to some of you as well. If you need to redo an audio that is going to be remuxed with an mpeg clip that is vcd ready AND are going to use it on a homedeck dvd player, then you will benefeit from this. Ok input your audio file in tmpg, but switch it so the "system audio" is checked, and not the regular audio file. Also check it right before you hit start to encode, as once you input the file it switches it back to a regular audio file, so just re-check "system audio" . It might have something to do with the buffer rate, either way the vcd that gave me problems, now works fine.--
