burnt vcds that don't play on set top dvd/vcd players but fine on PCs ?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I used both nero & EZ creator to burn vcds that I can play fine on my PC's using a sw player like XingMpeg, but not on my DVD/VCD players (e.g. panasonic dvd a102 & sharp dv710). Any clues ?

The problem is with the dye of the cd-r. Try CD-RW [may be verbatim} and it might help. There is a list which describes which brand goes with which dvd player on the web.

Your real question is can your DVD player read CDR or CDRW? Go to www.vcdhelp.com or www.vcdhelper.com to find out.

Try using silver coloured CD-R or CD-RW genrally work better. But you will probably have to try a few brands before you find perfect results, as they vary in performance with different DVD Players!
