WARSAW, Dec 28, 2000 -- (Agence France Presse) An ATR-72 aircraft operated by the Polish national airline LOT made an emergency landing at Warsaw's Okecie airport Thursday after the turboprop's right engine failed, an airport spokeswoman said.

Fifteen minutes after the aircraft departed for Berlin a failure signal went off on one of the engines and the pilot requested permission to make an emergency landing, which was completed without incident, Anna Jozwik told AFP.

The 26 passengers were reassigned to other flights bound for Berlin.
