CHICAGO (AP) -- An American Eagle flight bound for Wisconsin made an emergency landing at O'Hare International Airport after a pilot reported control problems.

The 37-seat Embraer jet landed safely around 10 p.m. Wednesday, about 45 minutes after takeoff. None of the nine passengers and three crew members on the flight to LaCrosse, Wisconsin, was injured, said Dan Purtin, a spokesman for the Chicago Department of Aviation.

The plane had a problem with the system that electronically controls its horizontal stabilizer, American Eagle spokesman Mark Slitt said. The pilots were able to manually control the stabilizer during the landing, he said.

Federal officials were investigating.
