I want a big cat and hope I can get a large male Maine Coon for a pet. Are Maine Coon's the largest breed? Is 18 pounds a normal weight or can some cats get to 25-30 without being overweight? What other breed is large and strong and makes a good pet?

i don't claim to be an expert, but from my research it seems that 18-20 lbs is about right for an adult male. though some do get bigger, i think 30 lbs. would be too much for these cats. i do not know of another breed that is generally larger than the maine coon, though norwegian forest cats are also pretty big and look similar to mc's.
