I was wondering what theme Poe expresesses in the majority of his poetry. Is it mystery, darkness? personal struggle, and anguish?

I think that the majoriety of Poe's work has to due with the deaths of young beautiful women. This because he experienced alot of deaths with his wife, mother, and a friends mother whom he felt very close too. He uses alot of red in this work because of death and cause all three of thses women died of consuption which is when you cough up blodd.

a lot of poe's work has to do with revenge. hop frog, and the tell tale heart kind of mock the idea of revenge while the others can be argued that it supports the idea.
