why has inflation reached such a low level in the uk economy? is it sustainable?

Inflation is currently low due to many many factors. I believe that due to the demise of Thatcherism and the use of interest rates to control the economic growth of the country the economy is more stable. The Bank of England now controls interest rates thus the boom and bust periods are now no longer experienced.
