Bush abandons daughter and wife at hospital to go fishing with Poppy

A "real cowboy" doesn't stay to comfort his daughter after surgery, that's "women's work". Real macho guys like the "W" got more important things to do, like golfing and fishing with the old man. Also wouldn't hurt if Poppy reviews that procedure again on how to run the country, just one more time!

I understand it must be tough being the dullest bulb on the string. Not being particularlly intelligent you believed the lies that dubya is stupid. Now to add insult to injury you display you gullibleness to the whole world. Why don't you do all of us a favor and post an essay about how even though you are an idiot you know more about constitutional law than the United State Sumpreme Court.

Jeanna Bush woohoo what a babe!!!!!!! Better looking than Kerenna, Krennanaa or whatever that Gore babes name is.

He also said she could clean her room when she gets out of the hospital. If this is the way he treats his own daughter, what kind of "compassion" can the rest of the country expect from him?

Why has he been hiding his daughters? Is it possible that they can't stand their daddy any more than over half of the people who voted in the last election can?

-- Cherri (sams@brigadoon.com), December 27, 2000.

Cherri, I think you're right, his daughters probably voted for Gore! He doesn't want the media to talk to them because they might spill the beans about what a 2-faced asshole their dad is.

-- LOL (Bush@weasel.bastard), December 27, 2000.

Why has he been hiding his daughters?

If I was in public office I would too! Why would a *loving* father put his kids under the microscope of public scrutiny?

Cherri,

Would you care to elaborate on your comment about G.W. saying that she could clean her room when she got out of the hospital? Some documentation would be nice.

-- J (Y2J@home.comm), December 27, 2000.

'J' you can just tell that's what he was going to tell her by the look in his eyes. Then he is going to appoint more minorities to cabinet posts in order to appear 'inclusive'.

If this is the way he treats his own daughter, what kind of "compassion" can the rest of the country expect from him? Hmmm, sounds about right to me. There are some who believe that kids have a right to a messy room. I'm not one of them. Some say that they should have a place where they can "let things go". Not me.

Sorry, my kids have to keep clean rooms, which afterall are located in my house. If they don't, then I will clean it for them. My method of cleaning entails bringing in a garbage bag. whatever is not in it's place will be place in the bag and taken out of the room. Maybe it will be returned, maybe not. I know this sounds so harsh to many of you bleeding hearts out there but it teaches kids lots. First it teaches them to respect their belongings, to handle their stuff with care. It fosters discipline and responsibility. It teaches them how to organize. It reduces the places where bugs can hide (much appreciated by the female gender).

Sure, my pleasure. You don't realize it yet, but Bush is a "major-league asshole"...

Bush's vacation: Golf, fishing, and work

December 26, 2000 Web posted at: 5:58 p.m. EST (2258 GMT)

AUSTIN, Texas (CNN) -- President-elect George W. Bush spent the day after Christmas in Boca Grande, a Florida island resort in the Gulf Coast, where he began a brief golfing and fishing vacation with his parents and siblings, all the while staying close to a telephone so he might continue his ongoing transition consultations.

The president-elect departed the Texas capital, Austin at mid-morning, bound first for Houston, where Bush's parents -- former President George Bush and his wife Barbara -- waited to be retrieved so they might attend the Florida gathering. The plane then headed to Punta Gorda, Florida, before the clan began its short drive to Boca Grande.

An interesting subplot to what should be a quiet holiday-week gathering involved the first face-to-face encounter between the brothers Bush. Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, the president-elect's younger brother, attended the family celebrations in Boca Grande, marking the first time the two have seen each other since the 36-day Florida recount ordeal drew to a close.

George W., Jeb, brothers Marvin and Neil and their father, all enjoyed a brisk round of golf at midafternoon Tuesday. All of the Bush men, in shirtsleeves, laughed and joked their way through an easygoing game, all within earshot of curious onlookers.

The president-elect even clowned a bit for nearby cameras after a sinking a particularly tricky shot.

The vacation was expected to come to a quick end, with Bush scheduled to travel to Washington on Thursday to interview more potential Cabinet appointees, and presumably make some new announcements and introductions.

The incoming Republican chief executive said Tuesday morning as he boarded his plane that the trip, though it was to be packed with boating, fishing and family get-togethers, would also be crammed with telephone consultations, and his daily intelligence briefings.

Time is growing short, Bush said, and with the clock ticking down toward Inauguration Day on January 20, every moment counts as Bush and his most trusted advisors seek to build up his new administration.

"We've made great progress up to now. I'm proud of how our team has really come together and done a great job in a short period of time," he told reporters Tuesday.

Bush was expected to stay in close consultation with his chief of staff designee Andrew Card, and with Vice President-elect Dick Cheney, who is leading his transition team in Washington.

Among the announcements expected to be made late in the week is the nomination of Wisconsin Republican Gov. Tommy Thompson as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. Thompson's selection was revealed by a number of sources close to Bush late last week, but the governor wanted to take a previously scheduled Christmas vacation before stepping forward to accept the nomination.

Bush is at the half-way point as he assembles his Cabinet. Seven picks have been made, with seven yet to go. Former Indiana Sen. Dan Coats was thought to be a frontrunner for Defense Secretary, but sources have indicated that Bush wishes to continue his search. They also say that the former Texas governor may be close to making his selection for Education secretary.

Jenna Bush hospitalized

The Bush family vacation proceeded Tuesday as planned, despite Christmas Day's medical scare in Austin.

Jenna Bush, one of Bush's 19-year-old twin daughters, was rushed to the hospital late on Monday afternoon after complaining of abdominal distress. She was quickly taken into surgery, and her appendix was removed.

Jenna hoped to join her family in Florida as early as Wednesday, said Bush spokesman Gordon Johndroe. She was scheduled to be released from Austin's St. David's Medical Center sometime later in the day Tuesday.

Her mother, Laura Bush, stayed on in Austin to look after her.

"The doctors are very pleased" with her progress, Johndroe said.

Bush, wearing a gray cowboy hat, left the governor's mansion in a rainstorm to visit his daughter for about 45 minutes after the procedure Monday night. Bush himself had his appendix removed when he was 10.

The president-elect said Tuesday that the family was having lunch at a friend's home when the attack occurred. The family returned to the governor's mansion, where Jenna's pain grew more severe.

Bush said his daughter's appendix had not ruptured. When an appendix bursts, it spreads infection throughout the abdomen, which can cause infertility in women and requires intravenous antibiotics and weeks of hospitalization.

Should Jenna not be able to join the rest of the family in Florida as planned, Bush joked, she would be welcome to stay home in Austin and "clean out her room" in the governor's mansion.

Jenna Bush is a freshman at the University of Texas in Austin. Her sister Barbara attends Yale.

This is the second time in a week, and the third time in the last month, that a member of the Bush family has been admitted to a hospital.

Laura Bush's mother, Jenna Welch, who is in her 80s, suffered spells of dizziness and felt faint Wednesday at a Christmas party. She was held overnight in a hospital for observation.

Bush's father, the former president, underwent hip replacement surgery at the beginning of the month. He is now recovering, but walked across the Boca Grande golf course Tuesday assisted by a cane.

'Should Jenna not be able to join the rest of the family in Florida as planned, Bush joked, she would be welcome to stay home in Austin and "clean out her room" in the governor's mansion'.

Exactly as I thought. Not a callous statement at all, but a JOKE.

Cherri, you embarrass yourself.

-- J (Y2J@home.comm), December 28, 2000.

Not a very funny JOKE, considering his daughter just had a very painful surgical operation, and probably won't be able to move for days, let alone pick anything up.

It's typical for Bush to think it is funny though, since he is a MAJOR LEAGUE ASSHOLE.

Give him a break. He's from the Stupid Generation, the last one before Women's Lib make some inroads.

LOL Maria! Been there done that

-- cin (cin@cin.cin), December 28, 2000.

Look, I am not a big Bush supporter, but I don't find that statement all that offensive. I am not all that PC and would have probably said something worse. God have I embarrased many in the past with worse things that I thought were fine.

Best Wishes,,,,
