Large poster

I would like to start doing poster (Color 4'X6').Do you know anybody who print them from an offset press?I know I can obtain them anywhere from an inkjet printer but it don't make sense at around $10./s.f..I would order 1000 of them so the only way to go for a decent price is offset printing,I guess. Also, would an 8X10 slides be really good enough for such a magnification? If not,is there any drum scanner that takes 11X14 or 16X20 slides, the idea being that I want to go from the slides to a scan and than edit and than print.Would really like to stay with 8X10 for many obvious reasons.Thanks,Gil.

if you can support 1000 copies, offset is for sure the way to go. yes, 8x10 CTs are easily able to render exceptional image quality at 4x6' size. drum scanning is still the highest quality for this kind of work. most good graphic houses can handle this kind of assignment, and there are plenty of small offset print businesses that can deliver you a great product at a great price.
