You can buy VCD's in the U.S. ...sorta. You can buy them online. I went to a site called www.vcdgallery.com and bought "Dune" and it works great. It's on two disks, which is one of the things I don't like about VCD's, but otherwise it's fine. You'll pay more than a dollar, though.

It looks like there are two kinds of VCD. One wiht the file by extension .mpg or .mpeg. DVD can play this kind of VCD. However, there is other kind of VCD with .vcd as extension. DVD can not play it. The latter one most come from Japan, or China.

It´s not a good idea to buy VCDs en México since they´re made out of VHS movies (Can you imagine that??) thefore the quality is very poor. I´ve been looking for copies of original VCDs in México but poeple who sell this fake-VCD´s know little less than nothing about that.

If you find out where to get them in México, please e-mail me
