Have a look at URL: http://www.vcdhelper.com/dvdplayers.htm and check whether or not your player is shown there. Friendly greetings, Eppo R. Kooi.

The real question is will your new dvd player read CDR or CDRW. Look at www.vcdhelp.com to see if it is the list and what it can play. If it isn't in the list I would give the player back to Santa and ask for one that can read CDR's. Some people accept one that will play a cdrw. BUT! What if you wanted to play a music cd you made in it? If you put the music on a cdrw the cdrw will not play on anything but your dvd player and computer.

its a Panasonic RV30..the list says its both cdr and crrw compatible but i used a acer 80 min cdr and it didnt read it..should i switch brands of cdr or what

Craig,

Try 74min CD-R first and see before switching brand. It may be that the 80min CD-R type is your problem.

I use Verbatim Datalife Plus CD-RW for my Panasonic

Hi Craig,

What I found with regard to your question is that your problem is probably not due to your process (nero etc.) but the media you are using.

I suspect you are using a DVD player with only 1 laser and burning onto a CD-R.

1 laser DVD players, eventhough they say they can read VCDs, can only read CD-RW VCDs not CD-R..

This is due to CD-RW being more optically similar to DVD disks and CD-R not.

So if my assumptions about your problem are true , try a good quality CD-RW. like a brand name gold.

good luck
