I just received a shipment of Kodak Rapid fixer and the instuctions were illegible. Could someone please help me with how to mix this stuff for film?

For film, use 4 oz of solution A (fixer) and maybe 13 ml of solution B (hardener) diluted to 16 oz as your ratios. Leave out solution B if no hardening is desired. For paper, use 2 oz of A and 6.5 oz of B in 16 oz. I don't recall exactly the amount of hardener to use for film, but the hardener bottle may say. Also, the Kodak web site probably has all this info.

For film, mix with water in a ratio of 1 part fixer to 3 parts water. Add a small quantity of hardener if desired (probably only necessary for high temperature processing). Kodak recommends fixing times of from 2 to 4 minutes.

I would leave out the hardener. You don't need it with modern films.

And yes, 1 part Rapid Fixer to 3 parts Water.

I use the same dilution for film and paper, with a short paper fix time.
