Clarky - one for your next meeting with NUFC?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Now I know Clarky had a meeting with NUFC about the website and that PremiumTV a branch of NTL are trying to sort things out but two emails this week prove otherwise:
From the NUFC Webmaster earlier this week:
This could be the ONE TIME you end up with more money in your pocket at the end of the festive season than at the beginning! And it need only cost you a £1 - because that's what a single plays costs with The Premiership Lotter-e.

It's the official internet lottery and it offers you the BEST odds in town. It's fast, fun and secure - and all prizes MUST be distributed each week. What's more, it's another great way of supporting Newcastle United, with 20 per cent of what you spend going to the club.

So click here on http://www.lotter-e.co.uk/newcastle.pl

DON'T HESITATE - PARTICIPATE!

If you have any questions regarding The Premiership Lotter-e please e-mail webmaster@nufc.co.uk

Then today I get this from an Oliver Shipper about a boro WAP trial:

Attention all "mobile" Boro fans - help model the future of Boro's interactive activities!

mfc.co.uk would greatly appreciate your help. Starting in the New Year, we're planning to offer a select few fans with WAP enabled mobile phones the fantastic opportunity to trial a new Boro WAP service for 1 month.

So here's the deal: if you don't have one then don't worry, we won't bother you any further. If you do and you’re ready and willing, please follow the steps below:

1. Tell us that you have a WAP phone by sending an e-mail to the address at the bottom, before 22.12.00.

2. Then wait. We will send you an email confirming your place in the trial, when it will start and what we’ll be asking you to do (all it will involve is completing a short user information guide and questionnaire).

3. Don't worry about those phone bills we'll cover the cost of any expenses incurred.

4. And as a big thank you, we'll send you an Official 2001 Boro Calendar, signed by the team.

And that's it! But be quick because it is just a 50 person trial to begin with, so there's only a limited amount of places and signed calendars! Remember this is so we can provide you, the Boro fan, with all the latest news and updates from the Riverside.

Thank you for your support,

Oliver Slipper MFC Account Manager

From the quick look I've had at the Boro site, it really is miles ahead of ours. Well laid out, useful, easy to find links. Haven't had a chance to look closer to see if the information provided is equally useful. Also there's no way I'd know if the info was accurate short of glaring errors like saying they were top of the league table and had Martin O'Neil as manager. I've been hoping to have a more thorough look and comparison to our site, and give my comments to Clarky to pass on. Things have just been too insane for me to do it though.

DB - I've sent him a mail as follows:
Oliver,
I'm a Newcastle fan - I know Premium TV plays a part in both NUFC and Boro but to be honest I'd rather the Smoggies drowned in their own chemicals shite rather than getting me involved - can you sort this out?

Helpful....
