The iron spreads the butter faster and over a wider area. Don't matter which way the toaster goes. Just shake it until the toast falls on the plate. You'll manage.

Oh no, not again! This means that 'er indoors has taken a perfectly tasty fruit cake and smothered it in that onoxious marzipan - which is clearly Satan's congealed phlegm - and then tried to disguise it with a whipped up mixture of egg-whites and icing sugar in the hope that an unwary Softie will unwittingly take a bite and fall gagging and choking to the floor, frothing at the mouth in urgent need of the Haemlich Manoeuvre.
