Dougal (and any heavy breathers out there), our number is 0191 2801370. Give her a bell, I am sure I won't mind baby-sitting whilst you all go out on the tiles ;-)

We'll be sure Mrs Softie arrives home with a couple of chocolate bars for you and the bairn, Softie. ;-)

Softie - gizzaring when it's organised. I'll invite a few mates roond fer a lads night in. I'm sure Steph, Dougal and Susie would help Mrs Softie clear the mess afterwards.

Champion: a nip of broon in the bairn's bottle, Howay 5-0 on the video and a group of lasses to make toast at the end of the evening :-) Sounds good to me.

-- Anonymous, December 21, 2000

Hey, if you lot are gonna be there already, we'll expect the toast to be waiting when we stumble in!

Which way up does the toaster go? Do you need the iron to spread the butter? Why does the turkey need his temperature checking anyway; if he's in the oven he's probably passed caring?....Wimmins' work :-)

-- Anonymous, December 21, 2000

The iron spreads the butter faster and over a wider area. Don't matter which way the toaster goes. Just shake it until the toast falls on the plate. You'll manage.

I have now spoken to Mrs Softie and we are talking provisionally about this Saturday evening. Need confirmation from Steph and Susie but Saturday pm's looking likely at the moment. Just for those requiring an update, like! Mrs Softie was actually icing a Christmas cake which made me feel all festive.

Oh, that's a point, actually, I forgot that Allison won't be there by Saturday. Doh! Oh well, I'm sorting it, all right!

-- Anonymous, December 21, 2000

We'll just have to go out another night as well. Give the lads more time to figure out the toaster. Or even to make us all a big fry up. ;-)))

I'm also very bored at work right now and trying not to get extremely annoyed with a very incompetent phone company so am looking forward to happier occasions. Can't get over there fast enough! :-)

Oh no, not again! This means that 'er indoors has taken a perfectly tasty fruit cake and smothered it in that onoxious marzipan - which is clearly Satan's congealed phlegm - and then tried to disguise it with a whipped up mixture of egg-whites and icing sugar in the hope that an unwary Softie will unwittingly take a bite and fall gagging and choking to the floor, frothing at the mouth in urgent need of the Haemlich Manoeuvre. Shudder. Quake. Gibber.

Sob, sob, sob. Tracy, my secretaory whosome of you have met through Upton Park excursions has just given me a Christmas present: some magnetic fridge photo frames, a cowm cushion, a diary and a massive book of NUFC's all time greatest players. Allison - lovely pic of Big Al on front.

Don't you like Marzipan, then, Softie? She had also made some mince pies if that helps...

-- Anonymous, December 21, 2000

Marzipan = Devil's custard

ooo, another book I may have to look out for while I'm over there. Must remember to bring an extra bag this time to haul my purchases back. :-)
