I am unsure about your question. Are you looking for me to analyse the poem or are you looking for a synopsis or maybe the actual words? I know the poem well having learned it as a small boy in school. As to its meaning, I find it beautifully simple, much like most of Stephens' poetry. He was a man who understood that humans and animals come from the same line. I would not dare to summarise any of his poetry but I would be willing to discuss his poetry and any other works of his.
