Am new to this internet thing, so bear w/me. Not sure if 2nd receipe went through, so here it is again. Ingredients: 1 c milk, 1/4 c. warm water,2 pgk active dry yeast, 1/2c.sugar,1tsp.salt,1/2c. butter,4 eggs,1 egg yolk,4 1/2c. unsifted all-purpose flour,1/2c. seedless raisins. Topping: 1 egg white,2tbs.flour, 2 tbs. sugar,1/4 tsp.cinnamon,2 tbs.flour. In sm. saucepan, heat milk until bubbles form around edge, remove from heat, cool to lukewarm. Pour warm water into lg. bowl, first rinsed in hot water. Sprinkle yeast evenly over the surface of the warm water, stirring until dissolved. Add lukewarm milk, 1/2c sugar, salt, 1/2c. butter, eggs, egg yolk and 3 c. flour. Mix at med. speed until smooth and blended. With wooden spoon, stir in 1 1/2c flour;beat vigoursly 2 min. or until dough leaves side of bowl. Mix in raisins. Cover w/towel and let rise in warm place until double in bulk (about 1 hr) Grease and flour 9" springform pan. Fold 30" strip of foil lengthwise around top, extending over rim 2 ". Turn dough into pan. Cover loosely w/towel, let rise in warm place until dough is 3/4 " from top. (about 1 hr) Preheat oven to 350F. Make topping: using a fork, beat egg white w/1tbs. water--brush on top of babka. Mix flour, cinnamon and butter- sprinkle on top of babka. Bake 1 hour or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. About 16 servings. These are both good receipes--hope you enjoy them. If you ever get any receipes for the Kolacz, I'd appreciate it if you sent it to me--I'd like to give it a try. GOOD LUCK!
